    Our Approach Apprenticeship Options Success Stories How Do I Apply News Contact Us You are here Home Media Centre News Go back 16th Sep 2015 Seddon shows its colours for Pride event Builder and developer Seddon flew the flag for Salford s LGBT community at Manchester Pride The company which has offices in Bolton donated a float in support of the event on Saturday August 29 One of Seddon s joiners built the float using materials donated by the firm while a driver and mascot Seddy Teddy helped out on the day A keen supporter of the event Seddon also donated 400 to Manchester Pride This is the third year that the company has partnered with Salford City Council in its festivities Vanessa Barlow CSR Co ordinator at Seddon said As a company we are dedicated to supporting the communities we work in and our involvement in Manchester Pride is one of the many of things we do every year to give back to the local area Seddon established in Salford in 1897 and we continue to support projects and events across the city to this day News List News Archive News News Archived News Video Library Media Contacts View

    be able to show off the work we have been doing on site and meet the bosses behind the development I wouldn t be here today without the scheme and I know the rest of the apprentices feel the same I have come a long way since I started my apprenticeship my confidence has grown immensely and it s give me a career to work towards that might not have happened without this development Sam is employed by Seddon s subcontractor Talke based A Lench Building Contractors and is currently working towards his NVQ Level 2 qualifications Mike Watson Director of Older People s Services at Your Housing Group said It is fantastic to meet all of the apprentices being taken on as part of this project From the very beginning we wanted to not only build suitable housing for older people we also wanted to ensure the workforce building it were local and therefore had a positive impact on the local economy I can happily say we have achieved this here The roof of the development is currently being erected and internal fit out work is expected to commence in the coming months Built on the former Westcliffe Hospital site the extra care scheme will be run and managed by Your Housing Group once complete in October 2016 The development is part of a PFI programme being administered by Stoke on Trent City Council and is one of three sites being transformed into extra care villages The scheme will see a total of 390 units created across the city at Abbey Hulton Blurton and Chell Heath by Sapphire a consortium made up of Your Housing Group Eric Wright Group and Kajima Partnerships Limited Emma Dempster Skills Coordinator at Seddon said The apprentices working on this Seddon development are the

    the three years to 2014 The firm which has offices in the Midlands and North West has been appointed to four lots on Bradford Metropolitan District Council s framework which will see it deliver improvement works and extensions to the Council s existing primary and secondary schools and early year s facilities up to the value of 4 million The three year Building Works in Live Education Environments framework may also see the release of new build contracts as well as improvements to the city s further education facilities Seddon has a heritage of delivering high quality education projects and has recently completed five projects for Staffordshire County Council under a similar construction framework The news comes as the company has also secured a 500 000 contract from the University of Leeds to refurbish all the bathrooms in the Dobree building of Charles Morris Hall During the 12 week project Seddon will renovate around 80 en suite rooms to greatly improve the facilities at one of the University s campus residences Mark Dawson Operations Manager at Seddon said We are delighted to have been awarded four lots on Bradford Metropolitan District Council s framework and hope this is the first

    science park IC5 is the latest in a series of facilities at Keele University Science and Innovation Park providing high quality office and workshop space for new and existing medical technology and engineering enterprises Seddon will build the shell and core of the IC5 building along with three separate wings and associated external hard and soft landscaping Work has already begun on the development and is expected to be completed by April 2016 Seddon secured the project after being appointed to the four year 40 million construction framework for Staffordshire County Council The framework has seen Seddon build four schools for the council since 2012 with the company also recently appointed to deliver the 5 5 million Veritas Academy primary school in Stafford Staffordshire County Council s economy leader Mark Winnington said We are pleased to see work on the new innovation centre get underway with Seddon We took the decision to invest in the project four years ago so this is a real milestone It will further Keele University Science and Business Park s reputation internationally as a prime location for innovation in the medical technology and engineering sectors The expansion of the park will lead to an increase in the cluster of this type of industry in Staffordshire and we are confident this can continue to grow The centre will add to our drive to attract high quality businesses and jobs and bring real long term benefits to the county As part of the development for Keele University Seddon will also work with local schools to provide health and safety talks for children and to introduce what careers are available in construction Eamonn Burns Regional Director for the Midlands said We are delighted to be developing this much needed office and industrial space for Keele University and the
