    a new artwork Children from the school were asked to come up with ideas for a sculpture to mark the completion by Birmingham based Seddon Construction of a new warehouse building for local iron castings manufacturer Castings Plc For the competition organised by Seddon Castings and Barnett Ratcliffe Architects pupils were asked to produce designs on the theme of the processes carried out in an iron foundry A sculpture will now be created taking inspiration from the children s designs and will go on display at the Castings head office in Lichfield Road Brownhills The winning design featuring a pot used for pouring metal was by Year 2 pupil Ellie Harrison who was presented with a 30 book voucher by Seddon Second and third prize winners Diane Cresswell and Ben Rudd received 10 book vouchers Seddon also presented all three pupils with a bag of goodies while Castings presented 150 to the school for art materials We had 30 entries in all and the pupils came up with some imaginative ideas says Seddon Construction business development manager Jade Hollis The entries were of a very high standard and the pupils had put in a lot of thought coming up with
