    Valveless System Servo controlled CPAP Hot Wire Flow Sensor Xenon Therapy Education Partner Net Contact Home News Duke of Kent visits SLE Duke of Kent visits SLE 24 July 2013 His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent paid an official visit to SLE in South Croydon to see some of the company s latest products The Duke of Kent was welcomed to SLE by Managing Director Bernard Nelligan before being given an in depth tour of the facilities to see some of their life saving neonatal ventilators under construction SLE has been based in Croydon for over 50 years and specialises in developing and manufacturing intensive care ventilators for premature babies His Royal Highness was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Lieutenant for the London Borough of Croydon Colonel Ian McRobbie and Yvette Hopley Mayor of Croydon It was Colonel McRobbie s second visit four years ago he had been at the company to present SLE with the Queen s Award for Enterprise Export In words of welcome Bernard Nelligan thanked the guests for their interest in the company and introduced them to Barbara Pilgrim SLE s Senior Clinical Trainer Barbara gave a brief demonstration of the SLE5000 SLE s latest touch screen ventilator to the visitors During the visit the Duke of Kent also met some of the senior managers responsible for the Support and Distribution of SLE s products Chris Worrell Marketing Manager spoke with His Royal Highness who expressed interest that SLE s products were now distributed to over 90 countries His Royal Highness had a keen interest in technology and was interested in some of the techniques involved in ventilating tiny babies said Mr Worrell after the visit In the Assembly and Test Departments the visitors were shown the complex manufacturing and building processes necessary
