    chickens that lived on a roundabout These chickens became almost nationally famous but Gordon himself is a most wonderful speaker as anyone who has heard this CD can attest We also published a CD of Essex Voices in collaboration with the Essex Record Office that present the accents of the county before Estuary swept many of them away We have just finished an exciting new project a 60 minute documentary podcast to help promote the cuckoo tracking project by the British Trust for Ornithology It is called The Call of the Cuckoo and features such distinguished speakers as Professor Richard Dawkins who explains the evolutionary implications of cuckoo behaviour and Professor Nick Davies of Cambridge University perhaps the world s leading authority on the European cuckoo We also meet other other leading scientists and ornithologists who show us just how clever cuckoos are and no less fascinatingly just how clever human beings have had to be to find this out But no Sounding Board Production would be complete with out dialect and we have smuggled in some East Anglian country voices who movingly attest to the disappearance of this most iconic of birds in their own lifetimes In a change of direction we recently were asked to make a podcast to publicise Aquatread an endless pool facility in Leeds set up by the Olympic triathlon gold medalist Alistair Brownlee his Olympic bronze medal winning younger brother Jonny Brownlee and their training partner and Aquatread head coach Rhys Davey We also had the chance to meet Commonwealth bronze medalist Vicky Holland who moderated a Q and A with the brothers and if you look closely at the picture you will see Sounding Board s AKG 1000C microphone in action Although we are more used to dealing with Suffolk dialect than broad

    This exciting project is the first of its kind where the restoration of neglected town centre woodlands or derelict land is converted into perfect pockets of tranquillity for a three purposes To create a green haven that will provide palliative care for the terminally ill be a support centre for children with special educational needs and provide disadvantaged young people including those with disabilities with work experience and community involvement We develop wonderful natural woodland retreats where these three audiences feel supported whilst improving the land to meet each other s needs Our charity has recently obtained ownership of a very poor environmental site in the centre of Ipswich which we aim to transform into an inspirational support centre Our aim is to ensure that the success and experience of our volunteers and staff at the Sudbury site is reflected in Brickmakers Wood in the heart of Suffolk s county town We will encourage through local volunteer community action to quickly and decisively change its terrible state into a wonderful end of life retreat and an educational centre for disadvantaged young people Our actions and work with the disadvantaged terminally ill in Sudbury won us this years Greenest Community in Suffolk award The new Ipswich site is between UCS Suffolk and Alexandra Park UCS has been wonderful and have given us the land Check out the Eden Rose Coppice Trust s website at http www withnature org Check out the website for details I ll be walking dressed up as a litter basket with a trail of cans and tins behind as if I m Just Married but without the sign Latest news update Charlie writes Support for my anti litter walk has grown and grown with people wanting to join in the walk part or whole Some of the high profile names to name just a few joining the walk or supporting the walk are Lady Clare Countess of Euston has become a patron of the Eden Rose Coppice Trust and will be launching the walk on Mon 7th Sept in Mildenhall and cutting the ribbon Colin Noble leader of Conservatives Suffolk County Council will be starting the walk in Mildenhall Roy Hudd veteran entertainer will be completing the walk on stage 4 on the Thursday and leading an impromptu get together in the Eden Rose Coppice in Sudbury at the end of the walk Ben Gummer MP will complete stage 5 along with Mark Murphy from BBC Radio Suffolk Tim Passmore Suffolk Police and Crime Commissioner will be cutting the ribbon for this stage The Country Land and Business Association CLA has also shown great support and some of their members will be joining the walk Litter thrown into fields are a danger to livestock and there was also a case where a farmer lost a lucrative contract because glass was found in a sample of grain Charlie s Latest Book October 23rd marked another milestone in Charlie s amazing career For the past eighteen months he has
