    Advantage Card Pre booked groups 10 or more call for discounts Age Restrictions Planetiarium shows are suitable for most seven year olds to adult Children under five years are not admitted to the Planetarium An age restriction is imposed because the show is presented in the dark and lasts for just over forty minutes Visitor s eyes take several minutes to become customised to the dark If we have to interrupt a show lights must be switched on delaying and disrupting the show for all visitors How to get here Southend Planetarium is situated on the first floor of Central Museum on Victoria Avenue A127 next to Southend Central Library and the Victoria Train Station By Rail Two direct rail lines operate between London and Southend Fenchurch Street to Southend Central c2c line and Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria National Express The journey time on both lines is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour Closest station to Central Museum is Southend Victoria on the National Express line Upon leaving the station turn right from either exit passing the station drop off zone the Museum s banner situated high on the side of the building should be visable It is a two minute walk By Bus There is a bus hub just outside the Southend Victoria train station Route numbers 7 9 1 2 26b 27 8 20 21a 21b 25 29 15 15b 16 201 215 By Car We are located on the A127 just off the main junction between the A127 and A13 The Museum and Planetarium is brown signed off both roads Closest parking is at the Library car park just off the A127 It is pay and display Mon Sat 9 00 18 00 free outside these hours Sun 11 00 17 00 1 00 1 hour
