is rated as Pegi 7 E 10 for everyone ten and up therefore it is ideal for young children or those who are still young at heart It is also ideal for those who have a natural love for collecting things personally I would not be at all surprised if a slight amount of OCD has been the cause behind the expenditure on my part as it allows the player to develop a collection of an ever growing number of characters At this point I should say that my main complaint with Infinity is that certain characters are only playable in the Toy Box mode and have no story based game of their own Admittedly this is a tad disappointing especially with Frozen s royal sisters though it doesn t take away from the interaction and the escapism Each of the mini games for the selected figures have little to do with the films they are associated with Naturally they have relevance however they do not follow strict plotlines from the movies For example the Toy Story mini game is based in space therefore it is largely focused on Buzz Lightyear s character background That said each of the forms you can get for it Woody Jessie and Buzz play a key role in the game largely with regards to the safes There are also mini quests provided for them by the small green aliens which are in abundance on this planet providing a large element of humour In one instance a space programme jetpack is unlocked allowing characters to fly to what were once out of reach areas As a slight digression my sadistic sense of humour got a kick when setting off a jetpack whilst stood next to a small alien watching me blast off and seeing the little green fella tumble over saying whoa is worth trying out for a giggle For those who have yet to play this game Power Disc Packs can be bought which can be placed on the Infinity pad where the Toy Box models usually reside These discs can be bought in packs of three and provide a variety of add ons for the game for example extra weaponry and scenery themes in one pack I managed to get an Alice in Wonderland one which changes the theme to that of whatever Disney flick is emblazoned on the disc For adult gamers and parents who wish to keep the room tidy and avoid having these discs getting lost extras such as booklets and containers have been specifically designed to help store them away Everything about Infinity is a Disney collector s dream With its continuing growth in popularity new characters are being brought out bit by bit and the latest in the pipeline are being released next month This will be the introduction of Marvel Avengers characters fangirl mode initiated and it seems my collection will continue to grow with each new set of characters the makers develop Disney Infinity 2 0

  • REVIEW: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) | SquabbleBox.co.uk - Entertainment Under Attack
than the first Avengers Ultron s lack of remorse and humanity in his bid to bring about mankind s extinction makes this an inherently darker story but it s a bit drab and leaden as a consequence in need of the spark of danger and urgency which characterised Captain America The Winter Soldier Tension is mostly lacking in the big action set pieces too which are enjoyable but never thoroughly involving or edge of your seat Perhaps the biggest issue with the climax is that there s no nail biting urgency or ticking clock Too much time is spent watching civilians being evacuated that s frankly too on the nose as if Whedon was conscious to avoid the same criticisms surrounding Man of Steel It just feels like Ultron is actually letting the Avengers evacuate everyone and foil his plot to wipe out mankind when he should be upping the ante and making it far more difficult for the Avengers to save the world Whedon s defining trait of course is witty bantering and he delivers again with Age of Ultron serving up plenty of laughs amid the spectacle Stark remains a one liner machine and there s a particularly fun party sequence not long into the movie which spotlights the Avengers mingling with other supporting players from the MCU though Natalie Portman s Jane and Gwyneth Paltrow s Pepper are noticeably absent There is a tremendous ensemble of characters here but Whedon manages to give them all a proper place in the story and action scenes Leading the ensemble is the perpetually reliable Downey Jr who s growing older but nevertheless remains a flamboyant amusing charismatic Tony Stark and one cannot help but ponder how drab the MCU will be when he inevitably departs The likes of Evans Hemsworth and Renner are fine but it s Ruffalo who shines here given more to do and more depth to his character As Banner s love interest of sorts Johansson also takes advantage of her larger place in the story As for the newcomers Taylor Johnson and Olsen yes they played husband wife in Godzilla and brother sister here both excel but it s Spader who will have everyone talking Ultron is an insanely sinister villain voiced to perfection by the veteran actor Whereas Loki was charming and conniving Ultron is an outright menace a mechanical madman with no sense of humanity or remorse He s a relentless Terminator like cyborg who can transfer his consciousness to another body at the drop of a hat and has access to the internet and all of Stark s files Age of Ultron remains a tour de force of blockbuster filmmaking from a technical perspective with Whedon gripping us from the outset the movie opens with a masterful tracking shot that re introduces us to the main players travelling from one Avenger to the next in the middle of combat The dreaded shaky cam syndrome does not rear its ugly head Whedon relies on

  • The Dark Side and the Light: Revisiting The Force Awakens | SquabbleBox.co.uk - Entertainment Under Attack
compositions created for fresh characters and situations He truly is a master of his craft and I am glad that he was able to return to compose for these new films I cannot wait to own the soundtrack so I can listen intently to the score without the sound effects and dialogue to get in the way It s something I always do with scores because that way when I watch the film again my connection to what I m hearing in the music becomes much stronger There s many other great things which I enjoyed seeing too There are appearances by General It s a trap Ackbar and Nien Nunb as a kid I really liked the latter for some reason who you might remember from Return of the Jedi as Lando Calrissian s co pilot on the Falcon during the Battle of Endor Daniel Craig also has an unlisted cameo as the Stormtrooper Rey uses the Jedi Mind Trick on It was great to see the X Wings and the TIE Fighters again with both being very similar to their Original Trilogy versions with subtle differences Hearing familiar effects such as the screeching of the TIEs was also a treat The sound design as a whole is wonderful There s also the screen wipes and fades that have been a staple of Star Wars since the beginning Now getting back to Kylo Ren There s certain aspects to his personality and his motivations which help to create a fascinating character He is more than just another Darth Vader for this new trilogy Ren has major anger issues which the Dark Side of the Force responds greatly to This anger manifests itself whenever things don t go his way The first of two moments effectively displaying this is when a First Order commander informs him that BB 8 was taken off Jakku with the help of Finn and Rey taking it out on the poor underling who informed him The second moment is when Rey has escaped the interrogation cell and Kylo destroys the room once he discovers she s gone When Vader expressed his anger towards those who brought him news of failure his reaction was more subdued and he seemed much calmer in his rage Ol Darth would just simply choke them with the Force whereas Kylo will lash out and use it to bring his victim closer before physically choking them Ren needs to learn how to control his anger and express it in such a way that makes it more effective Much like Luke had to learn to control his fear Kylo is experiencing an internal conflict where he feels the pull of the Light Side but he also wants to remain defiant against it There s a scene where he is speaking to the burned helmet of Darth Vader asking to be shown once again the power of the Dark Side so he can suppress the Light Knowing that Anakin Skywalker was redeemed at the end of Return of the Jedi and became one with the Force just like Obi Wan and Master Yoda did I wondered what exactly was going on in this scene Surely Anakin s spirit wouldn t be teaching Kylo the ways of the Dark Side At first I speculated that maybe Kylo s psyche is damaged so much that he might be having hallucinations of Vader thinking he s communing with him But as with Rey touching Anakin Luke s lightsaber and being shown visions of things that have happened perhaps a similar thing is occurring between Ren and Darth s helmet he s seeing what Anakin did when he used to be Vader and using that as a teaching tool of some kind Kylo was probably told the story of how Anakin became a Sith Lord and was ultimately turned back from the Dark Side What he sees and inspires him is what Anakin used to be before his redemption Eventually Han Solo confronts his son and tries to convince him to return home There is a moment where Kylo could actually go with his father and turn his back on the Dark Side but when it comes down to it he decides to descend further into darkness by killing Han with Rey Finn and Chewie there to witness it This was another powerful moment not only due to the sadness of seeing Han get killed but also the feeling of despair Chewie faces which is expressed so strongly with something as simple as a growl Not to mention Leia sensing the death of Han through the Force too Chewbacca then opens fire on Kylo injuring him which helps to explain why he loses his climactic fight against Rey After detonating the explosives in order to help the Resistance in the battle against Starkiller Base Chewie Rey and Finn escape But Kylo also escapes too along with General Hux Kylo killing Solo was one of the saddest moments in film history for me When it was announced that Han Luke and Leia would return for Episode VII I was faced with the possibility that we could see one of these legends bite the dust A character dying naturally like Master Yoda in Return of the Jedi is one thing but this was very different While Yoda s death is still very saddening for me comfort can be found in the fact he died peacefully However a character getting murdered outright is a difficult experience because it is a death that could have been prevented How could Ben kill his own father He could have let his pops live But it was naturally done so that his journey to the Dark Side would be complete Anakin was redeemed eventually and maybe that will happen with Ben at some point However for now Ben has truly become Kylo Ren just like Anakin Skywalker truly became Darth Vader Han getting offed is obviously not the first nor the last time this
