Used BMWs Children influence parents over new car colour and choice 15 Oct 2015 New research has uncovered the surprising extent to which children influence their parents car buying decisions The study published by Auto Trader canvassed the views of 1 000 parents and children aged between 5 and 11 The aims were to look at what parents and children looked for in their perfect family car and at how children influence their parents choices Overall nearly four in ten parents said their children had a say in the car that they bought Car colour was the most likely area for successful persuasion 26 influenced their parents choice of colour Children were most likely to push for red 28 followed by blue 21 black 14 and pink 13 Perhaps unsurprisingly boys tended to favour red cars 28 v 23 while girls preferred pink 26 v 1 However only 2 said they d prefer a white car despite it being the most popular colour for new car buyers in Britain today Children also influenced their parents in terms of the comfort 13 size 12 design 12 and entertainment systems 9 fitted to their new car Safety however top of the list of priorities for parents 27 was one area where parents tend to go it alone After safety they were most concerned with the size and space of the car they were buying so they could get extra boot space or more seats 25 how comfortable it would be 23 and reliability 19 Entertainment systems were considered important by only 2 of parents For children their top ten wish list in a family car included such glamour features as turbo buttons ejector seats and flame filled exhausts alongside entertainment systems A lot of research has been done on how the decisions

a wide choice of Approved Used BMWs A classic MINI gets its chance to hit the road once again 27 Jan 2014 It has taken around six months for engineers at the VDL Nedcar car manufacturing plant in the town of Born to fully restore Car number 983 The car with the production number 983 was one of the first examples of a classic MINI to be assembled in the Netherlands which makes it a grand old age of 54 When it was discovered in the barn in Groningen it was easily identifiable not only because the chassis and production number were in plain sight but the seats were upholstered in traditional Dutch style using real Horsehair Upon discovery it looked unloved and had literally been worn away by time but fortunately it fitted the bill for the re born mission perfectly It has of course been given another chance and now looks just a good as the day it was released if not better in fact Five men took on the challenge of stripping this 1959 beauty down to the bare bones before gradually and carefully piecing it back together All of the men had ample knowledge and experience of which were used in the process of restoration The car was given a total over haul which saw the engine and the gear box spring back to life Other parts to be replaced and over hauled were some body parts and door panels which were rebuilt by hand When extra parts were needed the individuals were given much help by the MINI community proving that the re build really was worth it This is just a taster of what is to come from VDL Nedcar as they will soon begin production of MINI models under contract meaning that MINI

it is a perfect city car this being proven when BMW selected the Blackwall Tunnel in South East London as a test route for its launch day As much as the BMW i3 is packed full of quirky characteristics such as the two colour exterior and a Formula One style regenerative braking system the Fiesta sized car might only appeal to the wealthy who are searching for a second car to run errands in Of course the main attraction is the fact that it houses a rechargeable 18 8 WH battery as opposed to a traditional engine The battery will give i3 car owners a driving range of 60 to 100 miles Many may struggle with its top speed capability which is 93mph but let s face it who is going to be doing that speed in the middle of a city centre It has a light carbon fibre body which was needed in order to alleviate the weight of the car once carrying the substantial battery pack under its floor When the battery of the car is completely out of power it can achieve full re charge on a regular domestic plug in just 8 hours which is an ideal length of time for many to catch up on some beauty sleep Not surprisingly the i3 has breezed its way through the selection process of the 2014 Car of the Year and has been shortlisted beating 30 other contenders The Eco friendly BMW has made it to the final 7 along with the Citroen C4 Picasso Mazda3 Mercedes Benz S Class Peugeot 308 Telsa S and the Skoda Octavia The winner will be announced in early March at the Geneva Motor Show Too boost the sale of the little dynamic car in time for its release it has been

lime light 14 Nov 2013 BMW have just released two new models to their outstanding range of motor vehicles the M3 Sedan and the M4 Coupe The M3 Saloon is the perfect blend of sports car and Saloon It has a muscular front end that emphasise the large air vents making it instantly attractive to potential buyers The rest of the vehicle is similar to that of one which promises exhilarating performance but at the same time it lends a hand to practicality with the four doors The look of the car is just as breath taking inside as it is on the exterior The cockpit has a true sports feel but at the same time it is comfortable and designed with precision and exclusivity The leather trim M multifunction steering wheel with stitching in M colours certainly manages to draw in the spectators As well as being a looker the M3 Saloon is spacious which ensures all of its rear passengers can travel in just as much comfort as the ones in the front and if you were to travel with luggage you won t be leaving much behind as this has it all car can hold 450 litres of luggage The next new release from BMW is the M4 Coupe This is a lot sleeker than the M3 Saloon with many saying that it has a similar look to the current Audi A5 making it more athletic and powerful It will have an output of 434bhp but the full technical spec of the vehicle won t be released until January 2014 at the Detroit Motor show What is known for now is that the M4 will emit less than 200g of CO2 which translates to around 33mpg on the official EU test The M4 Coupe is the first
