    over the last few years Your service has always been efficient prompt and delivered with care patience and compassion and made a big difference to Mum s wellbeing Tweet 11th May 2015 Fabulous Fundraising by Stirling Volunteers Stirling volunteers held a Coffee Morning on Saturday 9th May and raised a fantastic 438 to support our local Food Train What an enjoyable day it was Thanks to all who was involved from contributing home baking and tombola prizes and to everyone who helped on the day Food Train is only partly funded by a local authority grant from Stirling Council so rely heavily on fundraising efforts to keep our vital service for older people going Tweet 7th May 2015 Food Train Customer Drops in for a Visit Food Train customer Shirley dropped in to our offices for a visit today with the help of volunteer Kirsty Kennedy She was hugely complimentary about our service and our amazing volunteers Shirley thinks Kirsty is wonderful but also added we can send Alan Johnson anytime as he is exceptional Shirley is a full time carer for her husband and rarely has the opportunity to get out for shopping on her own She described our volunteers as wonderful helpful polite courteous and respectful Tweet 1st May 2015 What Our Customers Say Customer Miss Kippen called to say Thank goodness we ve got them I m so grateful to everyone for everything they do They re so cheery and never a grumble from any of them I get shopping every week and they empty my box and put some things away in the fridge for me but then I tell them to leave the rest for me as it gives me something to do I m so pleased I ve got them Tweet 1st May 2015

    track until March 2017 Thank you Stirling Council for helping us to help the older people in our community to live more independently at home whilst also increasing their social contact twice a week during visits by our lovely volunteers The decision was made after a comprehensive review of the Food Train service during which we had to evidence quality efficiency value for money and equally if not more importantly positive outcomes for our customers We still have capacity to register new customers If you know someone who is starting to struggle with their grocery shopping give us a call on 01786 450536 We can help Tweet 24th Apr 2015 What Our Customers Say Mrs Ramsay from Dunblane called in yesterday to thank us for our support and said this about our volunteers I look forward to them coming They re all nice and they stay for a blether after they ve put things away Tweet 24th Apr 2015 MSP Visit by Dr Richard Simpson Food Train were delighted to welcome Dr Richard Simpson MSP at a recent meeting where he found out more about this valuable service in Stirling and surrounding areas He met staff along with a small group of volunteers and 2 of our customers Dr Simpson was interested to hear how the service provided by Food Train volunteers improved the lives of our 2 customers Mrs Margaret Anderson aged 85 and Mrs Margaret Neill aged 62 who has suffered from Multiple Sclerosis since she was 19 Both customers talked highly of the benefits of the service and enthusiastically about our volunteers who they said were just like family Dr SImpson went on to commend Food Train in his Stirling Observer column the following week Dr Richard Simpson MSP 5th from left seen with L to R
