    a fatality free year continuing the positive trend from 2013 The total number of accidents reported increased by 9 from 96 in 2013 to 105 in 2014 which corresponds to a 9 increase in the total number of member operatives now up to 14 988 The report also shows that there were 24 falls from height in 2014 with the highest reported fall being from 6m Nine reported falls were from scaffolds or working platforms of which were six from under 4m with three falls at 4m or above and seven falls were from ladders NASC President Kevin Ward said The annual report continues to demonstrate to the wider industry the continued commitment of NASC members when it comes to dealing with all matters Health and Safety related It is therefore no surprise that continuous positive performance is evident in this latest set of statistics These hard facts help to underpin the professional status for NASC regulated member companies All NASC members are required to abide by a strict code of conduct which sets trading standards for the scaffolding and access industry and requires members to provide the highest possible service Turner Access is a full contracting member of the

  • Turner Access Launches the New Turner Aluminium Beam (X500)
    X500 series of aluminium beams The Turner Beam X500 is 500mm deep and designed to be stronger and provide greater load carrying capacities than deeper beams thus delivering lower weights better handling and higher installation productivity By comparison with similarly sized beams design engineers will need fewer Turner X500 beams to achieve the same loading resulting in savings in storage transport and handling costs The Turner Beam X500 is available in modular lengths from 1m to 7m that can be quickly and simply connected using aluminium spigots and locking pins manufactured from high strength corrosion resistant steel suitable for marine corrosion environments to make up custom lengths whilst maintaining regular node and vertical spacing The beam s top and bottom horizontals and main verticals are made from high strength 48 3mm OD aluminium tube capable of accepting standard scaffold couplers The beam design also allows for fixing connections to be made near structural node points The Turner Beam X500 is manufactured in Scotland under a BS ISO 9001 approved Quality System and have been independently analysed assessed and tested to the requirements of BS EN 12811 and BS EN 1999 To find out more about the new Turner Beam X500

    with family and friends celebrating the achievements of the past 30 years and looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities of the future Fundraising was a major part of our celebrations with staff taking part in the Kiltwalk Great Scottish Run Cake and Book Sale and a Skydive all in aid of our nominated charity Yorkhill Children s Charity We are pleased to announce that to date we have raised 4 793 50 for Yorkhill which we hope will play a small part in contributing to their great cause There were also a number of social events to celebrate together as a team including ten pin bowling football tournament a day at the races and drinks reception at the Corinthian Club in Glasgow And it has been a year of newsworthy projects also with the Glasgow South Rotunda Scottish Independence Referendum and SP approval in Sweden for the Turner OCTO Scaffolding System all projects of particular note Turner Access Managing Director Ian Wilson said I would like to thank everyone who has helped to celebrate the 30 th Anniversary of the company by taking part in or supporting the charity and social events that were organised throughout the year Over
