  • Budweiser, a cute puppy and GoDaddy’s mistake - UK Marketing Network
already amassed over 6 million views ahead of the Super Bowl this Sunday This year the beloved puppy gets lost on a mission to find his furry friend This year they have added a little more drama into the ad with a climactic end which pulls on your heart strings The controversial website hosting company GoDaddy saw this as an opportunity for a bit of reactive marketing They released a parody video shortly after Budweiser released Lost Dog with immediate backlash from the public Less than 12 hours after posting the advert on their YouTube account GoDaddy s CEO Blake Irving wrote that the ad would not air and they removed it There has been a lot of speculation in the industry that this was another GoDaddy PR stunt but Sean Mills the regional director for North America has declined to comment on the strategy around the video In their version of the advert the lost Labrador puppy makes his way home only to be shipped off as he has been sold via a website created on GoDaddy This angered animal rights activists who said they were promoting puppy farms As a company who regularly receive complaints for their advertising it s unsurprising that this ad was targeted straight away Also just in case you missed it here is Budweiser s Puppy Love ad from last year Views 148 Tags Share Tweet Facebook Facebook Previous Post Next Post Add a Comment You need to be a member of UK Marketing Network to add comments Join UK Marketing Network RSS Welcome to UK Marketing Network Sign Up or Sign In Or sign in with Top Content Edit 1 Introduce yourself 2 Excellent role for a Senior Marketing Manager in South East England UK 3 Come join ClearScore team as a Digital
