  • Lake District 3 Peaks, for charity fundraising or just for fun. | Vertical Events
    9 am on the first of the 3 peaks Scafell Pike The ascent of Scafell Pike takes around 2 hours We then descend into Borrowdale where we meet up with the support vehicle at around 13 00 As well as providing refreshments in the form of tea coffee hot chocolate and cup a soups your spare clothes and food can also be left with the support vehicle as it meets with us throughout the challenge We then travel by minibus to our second mountain Skiddaw the drive is around 20 minutes and we are typically setting out up the mountain by 13 30 The ascent and descent takes around 3 5 hours The support vehicle is waiting for us again when we complete our descent and we jump on board for the 10 minute drive through the valley to our 3rd mountain Helvellyn The last of our peaks is typically completed in around 4 hours and we arrive back down in the valley just before or sometimes just after dark We then travel back to Keswick arriving at around 22 00 Our guides will be with you throughout the challenge and we will be in contact with our support vehicle

    of the Lake s classics such as Scafell Pike England s highest mountain Great Gable and Bow Fell The aim is to complete the route in one go in as fast a time as possible typically between 12 17 hours This is at a moderate pace and is achievable by a group with a reasonable level of fitness without having to run Typically teams stay in or near Keswick for the night before and after the challenge There are various types of accommodation available from bunk house hostel 5 star hotels in and around the town We collect you from your accommodation and transport you to the start it is always good to be away early and we encourage teams to start by 8 am at the latest Our mountain leaders are with you throughout the event guiding and supporting you all the way All of our staff have excellent local knowledge being based in the area themselves The route does vary a little depending on the particular leader as they all think they know the best quickest way Our support vehicle is also on hand in case it is needed and carries spare clothing food and equipment It will

  • Bespoke Challenges | Vertical Events
    we will be met by our support vehicle 17k 5 5 hours From Ambleside we cycle into the Langdale valley the gateway to the mountains where we will again be met by our support vehicle 12k 1 hour approx We now head into the central fells home to England s highest and most spectacular mountains we summit Scafell Pike England s biggest mountain and descend into Borrowdale just as it begins to get dark where we are again met by the support vehicle This completes the mountaineering section of the challenge which is 17 k 9 hours We now cycle North along the Borrowdale valley until we reach the shores of Derwent Water We arrive in the dark usually around midnight and set off on the final leg of the challenge by torchlight We canoe Derwent Water South to North until we reach the Middle Derwent River which takes us to Bassenthwaite Lake and then paddle on to the Northern end of the lake at the Northerly extent of the national park where the challenge is complete as the sun rises on Sunday morning Finishing at the Northern end of Bassenthwaite Lake entail s 32 k paddling 21 k cycling and 17 k walking 70 k total travelled Time to complete under 24 hours From here we transport you back to Keswick for Sunday morning 3950 VAT per team of up to 15 The SBL Attempt to summit Scotland s and in fact the UK s biggest mountain Ben Nevis and then canoe the length of Scotland s largest Loch Loch Ness Typically we collect from Glasgow airport or train station 12 1pm Saturday Arriving in Fort William at around 3 pm we then stop off at the supermarket to buy food needed for the challenge Starting Ben Nevis at
