they will give you all the info you need regarding the poses Weaponry is very nicely detailed shot guns having fold away stocks the flash grenades even having the rings on the pins some nice touches that will for most go unnoticed until you get down to painting Flash Well surprise surprise not a lot actually I found a little on the ammo pouches that needed tidying slightly and the very odd bit here and there but nothing that required anything major I sort of expected it on the smaller stuff because it is so small but overall the casting quality of even theses small items are indeed very good to say the least Mould lines I couldn t see any Painting This set was a challenge by this I mean how do you get a really dark blue to stay really dark blue but give it highlights without making the Dark blue seem unrealistic there was the challenge same with the black well I think I achieved my goal on that one and what with all this challenge I really did have fun painting them Question time I took the liberty of firing a few questions at Glen the Proprietor about these minis and about future releases here they are 1 the CT team is very well detailed I especially like the bits of kit that are separate is there a particular reason you do this The reason for separate kit is unlike most army units the SAS can personalise their kit to suit themselves some like just one utility pouch and some like more also due to the task some men may have more 2 In the last pack of S A S I reviewed the minis had separate heads although the CT all wear respirators did you

These slim volumes give a brief but fascinating insight into the complex work and enormous scope of the Imperial headquarters and the impact of this organisation in the success of French arms However this work just scratches the surface of its subject as the author himself states when looking at the Army Administration To describe this aspect of the army in any detail would require a book of its own

Goggles these are placed around the neck of the figures and again they are nicely portrayed The figures come with Backpack plus webbing along with the bayonet in holder and the useful entrenching tool Modern British Infantry Again what I d class as a chunkier set of minis but all are very nicely modelled in there kit and this chunkiness helps to emphasise the bulkiness of not only the uniform but also the kit Again all the minis are in the advancing pose and all armed with the SA 80 All have the same waist fitted ammo pouches and webbing these are as I have come to expect from Chiltern nicely presented and give a feel of on the battlefield to the minis All the figures wear the body Armour which is quite detailed and to be honest it is a shame that you have to paint it the DP camouflage as you can only see the detail of the sculpt when you look closely at the figures I think the only thing I found that I didn t quite like on this set was the netting scarf reason Well it looked to me like a normal cloth scarf rather than the usual netted one that is common with UK troops a shame as it is the only thing that lets this set down and something I m quite surprised at as the rest of the figures are so highly detailed Flash Not a lot actually only a few little bits that are inevitable but very easily cleaned off with no fuss whatsoever Mould lines these were apparent on a couple of the minis in the Modern set but this was variable a quick clean up being the easiest and a mould line down the centre of a minis face

generals of ancient times and send their computer animated armies into combat The most aggravating thing was just how often a bunch of individuals with no idea at all of what they were doing actually won through in the end Even so love it or hate it no one ignored it Building on the success of the series Virgin Books Ltd have issued the book of the programme The book covers in brief detail the famous Ancient battles that featured in the TV series ranging from Qadesh to Chalons via Cannae and Gaugamela with a total of 16 in all The approach taken is typical of coffee table type books and is likely to hold little ttraction for the dedicated Ancient gamer but for the general reader or the beginner to the subject the contents are interesting enough The troop types are described although some of the comments on their strengths and limitations are rather contentious in the light of modern research Even so they give the main flavour of the armies and characters involved For me the main problem with the book is the use of the computer generated images familiar from the programme They just look wrong Having
