the Cavalry are very nice too plenty of detail and animation All the figures are very well presented and detail is of a very good standard Cast as one piece the cavalry can seem a little daunting to not only clean up and undercoat but also to paint worry not they are pretty easy to do in both areas Detail The detail on the miniatures is good all the equipment etc is well reproduced to a good degree The figures clothing features folds and creases and the cut of these is to a very good standard Facial detail is another good point on these minis and there is plenty to work with even at this scale All the figures including the horses are very well posed and each has plenty of movement but it is not done in an unrealistic way that goes over the top Flash There was very little in the way of flash only the odd bit between the horses legs and this like I said above did not cause any major problems a couple of the figures did have mould lines on the whole they caused few problems in cleaning up the only time I did have problems was actually inside one of the minis tricorns but a bit of work with a scalpel and some modelling putty soon put it to rights Painting I ll not go into the fine detailed report as most of this was covered in the original review but I must say that I enjoyed painting the minis I chose for this second part and I surmise that the other nations will also be as good to paint as the quality of the miniatures does not change from nation to nation Final thoughts All of the following nations are available and

head and appear slightly disproportioned in the head department this could be due to the helmet They have good detailing on the figures but lack any real depth of cut on the figure 2 Painting I started these figures with my usual grey undercoat and saw very little improvement in the figures not much to work with but there is some cut in the uniforms and a minor improvement in the revealed detail In fact I started three of these figures and found the real lack of cut to not suit my painting style at all and so only continued with two of the figures This was not because they are bad figures far from it There are some points to note here Firstly I have no painting references for the Elizabethan era so I have used the next best reference material available for the period and watched a few episodes of Black Adder Lo and behold my versions of Mr Blackadder and Lord Percy Secondly I stopped painting the third figure so as to make a better job of the other two because as I said they don t really suit my painting style and have taken more time

also was the entire attitude of the gamers all were there just for fun and to participate in the huge selection of games and seminars I did not see or hear of anyone throwing a wobbler because their unit had just been annihilated they actually laughed about it and thought oh well try again This is something a lot of us could learn from Wargames are Games and so should be fun something some of us tend to forget and manage to get too engrossed and serious about it And yes I admit it I have got a little too serious too in my time I did want to get a look at the Golden Demon Entries but the sheer volume of bodies looking at the cabinets was too much and I was afraid of spending too much time looking at all the entrants and missing something else I did return to the press lounge and I couldn t get the words sorted out or how to explain how I felt about the whole experience I was lost for words and I think John will back me up on that It was something I will not forget in a long time and I hope we as Historical gamers can learn to create what Games Workshop have created They have got hold of fantasy gaming by the horns and pulled it out of the wargames dark ages something we indeed need to do with Historical Wargaming as it is in comparison looking very worn around the edges to say the least Now as anyone who has read my reviews regarding GW will know like I said earlier I have often said about the pricing of their gaming items and accessories as being over priced Now I am more aware of the Games Workshop approach to gaming and of the backroom operations of the organisation I understand that a lot of the cost is to pay for not only development design packaging but overheads shops and not forgetting wages On top of this is the GW s unique customer support showing a customer how to play the games build terrain paint and put their models together as well as provide somewhere to game It is sometimes hard to remember but when you buy a product from Games Workshop the price doesn t just cover the obvious it also covers all the help etc that they can provide You can go into the shop with your model half made up not buy anything and one of the members of staff will help you to finish the model or aid you past your stumbling block Nowhere else can you get this service and I must admit I never looked at it from that angle and in such a depth as to get to the conclusion as I now have Now don t go thinking Oh right someone else that will be praising them endlessly and whose reviews will be biased from here on in

for myself for a number of years This campaign Napoleon s first is ideal for wargamers the armies are relatively small the tactics of the two adversaries differ and therefore lead to a different look to each army and there is a nice variety of uniforms The range itself will contain plenty of figure poses and variations inspired from drawings and paintings of the period Each pack will contain four variations where 5 variations are Indicated in the list below 4 different will be supplied at random THE FRENCH ARMY OF ITALY LINE INFANTRY WEARING TARLETON IA1 Fusilier standing firing aiming 5 variants IA2 Command pack standing 2 officers drummer Nco IA3 Fusilier standing loading 5 IA4 Standard bearers standing IA5 Fusilier march attack 4 IA6 Command pack advancing 2 officers drummer Nco IA7 Standard bearer advancing IA8 Causalities falling 4 LINE INFANTRY WEARING BICORNE IA1a Fusilier standing firing aiming 5 IA2a Command pack standing 2 officers drummer Nco IA3a Fusilier standing loading 5 IA4a Standard bearers standing IA5a Fusilier march attack 4 IA6a Command pack advancing 2 officers drummer Nco IA7a Standard bearers advancing IA8a Causalities falling 4 LINE INFANTRY BAREHEADED FORAGE CAPS IA1b Fusilier standing firing aiming 5
