soon as I get a chance just to point out how flexible the blocks are I m actually thinking on the lines of a half stone Tudor style building and I ve also had an idea for some stone built shops with a fancy arched front and balcony and this is from just the three moulds that I have Obviously the more moulds the more flexibility in building projects Strength Again initially I had been put off by previous experience with those Linka moulds these are nothing like them I used wood glue to bond the blocks together and this proved to be strong enough indeed I reckon to break the model I d have to whack it with a hammer Obviously the plaster will be only as good as you make it but I think that in the model I ve made that it has plenty of strength and should take quite a bit of use Back up As I have already mentioned Bruce s website http hirstarts com has everything you need an extensive mould list free downloadable plans hints and tips you name it The Gallery is to say the least inspirational the models on there are superb all are sent in by happy customers who have purchased moulds Question Time I took the opportunity to ask Bruce a few questions about his products and on future plans 1 Having such a multitude of different moulds which can be used and interlinked it must be hard to come up with new ideas obviously some customers may have ideas on moulds that you may not have thought about do you like to receive customer feedback regarding new moulds etc and do you put any into your ranges Coming up with new ideas is easy Making these ideas into blocks that are easy to build with and look good is the hard part I always appreciate getting ideas from customers I keep track of the suggestions given and how strongly the idea is wanted However much depends on having a good plan for what the pieces should look like and what kinds of projects you can build with the mould For example I had wanted to make a pyramid for some time but I was never sure how to make the blocks easy to build with while also getting the pyramid angle exact The answer came to me while working on another project so the pyramid mould was finally able to be made Many people have wanted a cavern mould for their dungeons but I still haven t had any ideas for how to make the pieces at least ideas that I have been happy with The trick is to make the walls look natural yet easy to build with If I do find an idea that I like then that will be one of the next moulds to come out 2 I have been through your mould list on numerous occasions and do find it awe inspiring the

crucial bit detail and cut This was to a really good standard all the minis concerned had a high quality about them detail is at a premium and it is at this point where I am actually disheartened to have to do one of the most basic paint jobs on them which to me is a real pity as I would have loved to use plenty of colour on these and picked out all the little details on the figures The cut of the sculpts is decent although on one or two of the minis a little more cut in some of the details would have helped by working more with the painter and helping to emphasise the light detail a little better but again over all a good standard The Posing of the figures is good very lifelike and not overdone each is realistic and each has plenty of movement and the clothing works well to emphasise this movement As a pointer even before the cleanup and undercoat some of the fine detail items do stand out so this gives an indication of what can be done with the figures Like I mentioned earlier it is a shame to paint the figures to get them to appear ghost like but if you were to paint them as a standard undead figure you could get some really stunning results Now there s a thought for you Flash Yes there was some flash on the figures this was mainly in expected areas The worst place was between the spear and the spearman s body but this is to be expected due to the difficulties of it being an awkward place to cast Mould lines again there were a few present these were on the whole easy to remove although a few

sea water and the tops of sky scrapers for islands interesting thought eh The rule set is designed for skirmish scale actions and units from a little of 1 to four or five squads being the norm There are many different factions to choose from these being Robed Cultists through to Ghouls cannibals and Citizens militia there are even Mafia type gangs as well as remnant military forces although the Military components are usually small mercenary bands which fight for the highest bidder The system seems to work fine I had a couple of games with my lad and after the fist couple of games began to get the hang of things and it all started to run smoothly As of yet I haven t found any sticking points or loopholes that need fixing but if you do have any problems with the rules there is online back up via email plus if you go to Hetzerdogs website there is a link to there discussion group It is at this point I will hand over to Ian from Hetzerdog who gave me a chunk of information regarding the game and additions such as vehicle rules and the wasteland supplements We will be releasing vehicle rules for BB subsequently along with details of lists for wasteland factions such as Nomads and Raiders who would be most likely to use vehicles The rules will allow you to design your own vehicles so that you can use any model or converted toy you like and there will also be rules for cavalry mountain bikes motorbikes jet skis and boats All this will be in a supplement called Wastelands which will also include rules for wild and feral animals campaign logistics sentinal gun turrets advanced optional close combat rules scenarios and campaigns more background

in breaking up the flesh tone considerably with shading that is easy to define Poses are very lifelike and have plenty of movement which is not overdone Spears and shields in all the packs are also well modelled and shaped attention to detail is also of a good standard I particularly like the spear heads Again the figures themselves are well proportioned with nice little touches to them Hair hands faces etc are again well depicted and cut Pack 23 There are three variants in this pack Looking at these and the other packs it is easy to see that the sculptor has spent a deal of time working to bring these figures to life all have neat touches to them this goes right from the feather in their hair to the tail of the lion skin they wear The earrings that the figures in this pack wear are very proportionate and enough to work with without looking too big or out of scale Overall first Thoughts All the three packs that I was sent for review are of a very nice and high quality the itch to get painting them is in my hands as I write So without further ado I ll get down to the next part of business Flash Flash is in varying degrees on the figures but I would go from a guide point of view from slight to very slight Most of the flash comes off very easily and the only awkward point in the removal was between the head and the raised arm on a few of the figures which must be said is to be expected Mould lines on the whole are none existent and the couple of figures tat did have them were only slight and these were very easily removed

World Personally I have always found the forces of Chaos to be the most interesting of the armies to be found in the series and the new range of models supporting this new chapter in the creative mythology are really excellent As usual to support the gamer GW have produced a special supplement describing in detail the background to the new scenario These always make fascinating reading and illustrate how the creative capacity of GW is not simply limited to the production of models but to the whole raisson d etre of their ranges The supplement also contains special rules for the new weapons troop types and characters introduced in the supplement And at this point a word or warning watch out for Be lakor the Dark Master he is a real hardcase Of course it takes two sides to make a war and the supplement also contains a stack of info regarding the Empire and it s allies facing the Chaos assault The main force is the army of Middenheim a mountainous stronghold on the edge of the Northern wastes The troops include The warriors of Ulric The Teutogen Guard Wolf Kin and Hunting Hounds all of which are

rockets Mr Henry also spends some time detailing the organisation of the ships company to service the weaponry and the tactical doctrines that proved so successful at least until they met the Americans The French forces are dealt with in a similar way but in considerably less detail and the Spanish are covered even more sparsely It is a pity that there was not room to cover the Dutch and
