    Coastal Modelling Flood Map Challenge Natural Flood Management Knowledge Transfer Partnership KTP with Liverpool University Property Level Flood Protection Flood Risk Mitigation Surveys Flood Warning and Evacuation Plans Lead Local Flood Authorities Flood Risk Assessment in Scotland Scottish legislation requires a Flood Risk Assessment be produced for all developments located within an identified flood risk area The requirements for a Flood Risk Assessment are set out in the Scottish Planning Policy SPP Certain development constraints apply to the different flood risk areas described in the SPP Risk Framework Waterco has completed over 200 FRA reports in the past 5 years and can assess and advise on all levels of SPP risk framework Little or No Risk No development constraints exist due to watercourse tidal or coastal flooding and so a flood risk assessment is unlikely to be required Low to Medium Risk A flood risk assessment may be required at the upper end of the probability range i e close to 0 5 or where the nature of the development or local circumstances indicate heightened risk Water resistance materials and construction may be required depending on the outcome of the flood risk assessment Medium to High Risk A flood risk assessment will be required to investigate potential flood depths on the development site If development is permitted appropriate measures to manage flood risk will be required and the loss of flood storage capacity mitigated to produce a neutral or better outcome Land raising may be acceptable Water resistant materials and construction should be used where appropriate The full SPP document for reference can be located on our Flood Risk Guidance page Contact Us Deepak Kharat 01824 702220 Know Your Flood Risk Waterco is a member of the Know Your Flood Risk campaign to raise awareness of flood risk in the
