  • Peter Dudley’s Essex Senior League preview | Yellow Advertiser
three Enfield have put in some good performances at home this season and will need another one again if they are to defeat a Greenhouse side who narrowly lost at Stansted on Wednesday and looked more than useful too I think this will probably end a draw though Pete s Prediction 1 1 FC Romania v Ilford League leaders FC Romania welcome Ilford to Theobalds Lane with the hosts in ruthless form right now having scored 22 league goals in four games since the turn of the year Ilford are no pushovers though and come into this one after a fantastic win at Basildon in midweek so there is no reason why they can t get something from this encounter However I feel that the hosts will probably prove winners on the day to continue their march onwards Pete s Prediction 2 0 London Bari v Hullbridge Sports Hosts Bari are back at the Dog after shipping four at home to Bowers last time out whilst Hullbridge travel to Forest Gate having climbed back into the top ten despite failing to win at Mile End against Hamlets on Monday With the two sides locked together in mid table on the same number of points it will surely prove to be a tight affair but I fancy Hodgson s men to come away with all three points Pete s Prediction 0 2 Newham v Takeley Basement boys Newham hosts Takeley in a match where either side would fancy the points Newham have had a poor start to the year and shipped eight goals at home to leaders FC Romania last time out at Chadfields whilst Takeley conceded five at Stansted on Saturday and had two sent off so neither side comes into this one in the best of shape I m going to stick my neck out here a say Newham to grab all three points and give Sham something to smile about Pete s Prediction 3 2 Sawbridgeworth Town v Barking Fourth hosts third in what arguably is game of the day in the ESL as Sawbo welcome Barking to Crofters The hosts suffered a rare home defeat against Ilford last weekend whilst Barking lost at home for the first time in four months against FC Romania on Tuesday so both sides will have agenda s on how to put things right from those defeats With the Robins being at home I feel they may just edge this one but it is oh so hard to call Pete s Prediction 2 1 Stansted v Waltham Forest The Airportmen come into this off the back of two home wins and in Tom Lakin have a striker who has five in two including last weekend s hat trick against Takeley in the bad tempered derby Greenhouse pushed the hosts all the way on Wednesday night though although better finishing from the hosts would have made their evening more comfortable and Forest will come to Hargrave Park with as much of an attacking
