  • Lincoln Christmas Market 25 Years Zoo Ceramics News December 2006
    collection of small and larger pieces at this event The lakes are lovely at this time of year and the Cafe serves some festive offerings 1st 3rd December 2006 Fools and Angels Exhibition Many thanks to Ba Wheeler and the other members of the Fools and Angels Art Group for hosting a wonderful exhibition in their homes on West Parade A festive atmosphere was created with some of Lincolnshire s finest artists and craft workers exhibiting in such friendly domestic surroundings The weather was kind to us and resulted in a healthy turnout of enthusiastic supporters and collectors Ba has booked the more spacious Sam Scorer Gallery to host next years Fools and Angels over a two week period in December 2007 More details of the event will be posted in later editions of the news page 7th 10th December 2006 The Lincolnshire Christmas Market Maggie and Tracy amongst their work at the Lincoln Christmas Market 2006 As a hurricane demolished parts of the capital city of London we were setting up our stand in the outdoor craft marquee of the Lincoln Christmas market for the seventeenth time A huge turn out of brave souls came to visit the show

    NEWS WORK THEMED RAKU FEAST FAQ NEWS ARCHIVE GO TO MOULD MAKING DEMO GO TO KILN LOADING DEMO New Plaque Designs Butterfly Bee Gull Bat Dodo Eventually these new designs will appear in the Zoo Giftware Gallery once the moulds have dried out and the finished work has been photographed New Photographs for Gallery pages Once again Zoo is indebted to Terry Mason for taking over two hundred new photographs of the work Many of these images will find their way on to the Gallery pages to show lots of alternative views of a particular piece of work As you can image this is a time consuming exe r cise and will take a few weeks to complete especially with over a hundred pages to amend Adult Pottery Club Thank you to all the people who enquired about the Wednesday adult evening pottery classes The response was so great that we have decided to put on another class in the afternoon This extra session is also on a Wednesday and runs from 1 00 3 00pm This should be helpful to parents who are on the local school run For more details about the classes click on the link to

    Eastern Events Craft Team John and Brian from Eastern Events put on some beautifully organized shows at National Trust Properties In May we exhibited with them again at Calke Abbey in Derbyshire and featured lots of our new plaque designs The bats bees butterflies and dodos proved to be really popular Later in May we exhibited at Hatfield House at the Living Crafts Show which in spite of persistent rain throughout the four days was a successful show This is a great family day out and one of the few shows we get to exhibit with Maggie s husband Tom Betley from Rusticraft Garden Furniture You get lots of demonstrations peacocks maypole and morris dancing men walking about with owls some of them were real and Mark Speight from Smart Peacock in Hatfield woods Tom Betley and his Owl Mark Speight from Smart Morris Folk on Tom s furniture Hatfield Stand May 2007 Outside in An Exhibition of Sculptural ceramics by Michel Ducos On 1st April Maggie and I were invited to a private viewing of Outside In an exhibition of the latest work by Alford potters Michel and Heather Ducos It is always pleasant to catch up with our

    June and a lovely show had been planned with many guest artists celebrity chefs and flower arrangers but the weather was pretty appalling and only a few brave souls waded through the flooded roads NEWS EVENTS NEW WORK CLASSES NEWS WORK THEMED RAKU FEAST FAQ NEWS ARCHIVE We had more luck with the weather when we attended Grimsthorpe Castle in August and The Hub s Lantern Festival in September Calligraphy Artist Rachel M Denton As part of the LCSI project we came into contact with an artist who uses her lovely penmanship to design a range of unique stationery Rachel Denton worked from images of our range to create a wonderful series of greeting cards More of her work can be viewed at www stcuthbertshouse co uk See It At the Hub Several pieces of the Zoo Ceramic range have been selected for the See It exhibition at The Hub in Sleaford The show runs from 11th August 23 September 2007 For more details go to www thehubcentre org Lyn Lovitt Pots and Pictures Our colleague Lyn Lovitt has recently been exhibiting at the Sam Scorer Gallery in Lincoln from the 14th 26th August 2007 We shall be exhibiting at

    Park Wild at Heart and the Harding House Gallery in Lincolnshire and still have enough stock for several big Christmas shows NEWS EVENTS NEW WORK CLASSES NEWS WORK THEMED RAKU FEAST FAQ NEWS ARCHIVE Cows and Barn Owls at Trinity Arts Centre A very Lathy Man It is always pleasant to get some feed back about your work so it was a nice surprise to get a letter from Rodney Bewes of The Likely Lads fame who was performing at Trinity whilst our work was on show He was kind enough to let us know how impressed he was with the work and said that it was Lathy and Funny like me What a lovely word is lathy Out and about for Christmas Zoo traveled down to Winchester in November to take part in a Clic Sargent show at Lainston House in support of children suffering with cancer The event was well attended and lots of funds were raised for this worthwhile cause Later that month we displayed our work outside at Rufford Park where fortunately the sun appeared and we enjoyed some late Autumnal weather The Lincoln Christmas Market Craft Show December 2007 Unfortunately the same could not be
